We Found Your Daughter

On the afternoon of Thursday, February 9, 2006, I was at home trying to recover from a cold and pack for a surgery that had been scheduled and I hoped was going to take place the next
day. The phone rang and it was Bethanne Gennette of Sunny Ridge Family Center.

"Tina, I think we've found your daughter. We just received a referral for a little girl at Shantou Welfare Institute in Guangdong Province. She is 17 months old and has a VSD that has been corrected. I know she's little older than maybe you anticipated but I wanted to check with you to see if you're interested. If you want to talk it over with Jeff and call me back I'll send you the information."

"That's our daughter....just send the information. Get it here as soon as you can. I won't be home tomorrow I'm going in the hospital, but I'll get everything done as soon as I get out."

My surgery took place as planned and when I awoke I had two beautiful little girls standing by my bedside, and I had one little girl in a Fed Ex envelope I hadn't seen. I just looked at Jeffery and he pointed to the envelope, which I could see had not been opened yet. He just pointed to it and said, "This is our daughter." We opened it together - and sure enough - there she was.....Raegan Jean Biggs.
